Clinical Practice Team Break Out Groups

The main goal in your Clinical Practice Team Break Out Groups is to work together on details and preferences for the flow of the professional year. In your breakout groups with your clinical practice teams you can:

  • Set EDUC 455 meeting days and times
  • Review a general layout schedule for the spring semester:
    • edTPA important dates
    • Class meeting times 455/456
    • General phasing schedule
    • 4 observations (not exact dates)
    • Assessment schedule
  • Answer questions about the edTPA planning process: Link has a section called “Quick Guide: Starting the Process of edTPA planning
  • When and how to complete the Weekly Report
  • What lesson plans to use and how and when they will be shared
  • Set expectations for the student teacher and mentor teacher to set aside time each day to communicate
  • Positive mentoring,  partnerships and/or coteaching tips
  • Expectations and procedures for absences
